Go with BF.
The request was for something with reasonable single player. So that leaves BF out. UT2004 does have reasonable single player though, so go with that.

Controversial. What makes you say that?
Yeah. I'd like to hear more from seabass on this.

So any advantage to this over firefox or safari?
It all comes down to a personal preference. But I guess you could try reading this post (http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=150854&sid=c19af9897218b526e29eb693e1531e59) and see if it is useful at all.

does it really work only with intel macs?
Yes. But there's some indication that if they can get x86/PPC networking to function (it has the same problem as C&C Generals in that regard), they might do a PPC patch. I'm not going to hold my breath though.

i'm sure they just put the signs there with the dp 1GHz because they don't have dp 1.25GHz anywhere yet...no one can get them...not even the stores...but they have to advertise it somehow..

Can't tell - the site is down (well, not down, but not all that accessible either - the page says they're being hit with excessive traffic...).

I watch BBC from time to time, but usually only if that's on. That Ghram Norton guy's pretty funny though. :)

Get that fast and the furious crap out of here. That portrayed it's "subjects" worse than I could have ever imagined. Except for the blue 4th gen Maxima's burnout, everything in that movie was horrible.
Your example of 'those' cars (referring to 4 bangers) versus muscle cars is horrible. Muscle cars suck against todays cars. Straight 1/4 mile is the only place they have a CHANCE. Aftermarket mods and current technology allow cars with engines that have fractional amounts of a muscle cars displacement to eat them alive. But all thats off subject. Sorry

Hi there!
I'm using Skype not really frequently, so maybe my experience is not that representative, but i have to say that the program works just good...
I've called to another computer (Mac-PC, PC-PC, MAC-MAC) as well as to the real phone (normal and mobile) with quite a good results.
I've got a very bad sound in two occasions: calling (from Belgium) to somebody in SA; hi has an old PC and has a slow dial-up connection. The second bad experience was when I tried to SkypeOut to somebody with just an awful, really awful telephone network.
But it must be said that Skype is an enormously hardware demanding program.
Thanks,
Sash

While I realize that ideally you would want to use the firewire interface rather than USB, the reality unfortunately is that most of the digital cameras are USB based. My point is to make it usable by the greatest number of people, not to have the greatest number of people re-purchase their digital cameras.
The whole intent here is to make the iPod as usefull to as many people as possible while minimizing their expense in adopting it. If a person has to spend too much then they won't buy.
And yes I realize that getting drivers written can be troublesome. But by the same token if Apple wants to sell these things in volume, they may have to commit to doing some of the driver work (at least up front) themselves.
And finally yes, I do realize that users will try to plug almost anything into any place that can be plugged. And, like on most well behaved devices, a message to the effect that a driver is not available is sufficient.

why are you getting so upset when the goverment can already LEGALLY monitor all communication in the US?

talk about a violation of human rights. bye bye privacy.
although AOL cant really seem to get ANYTHING right, can they?

Bah, who cares about SD? The only "advantages" it has over MMC are in so-called 'security' which slows down the access speed and is really only good for any corp. involved in anti-piracy measures. For the consumer it has NO advantage, and costs more than MMC. For example, a 512 MB MMC (identical in every way to the SD except in price, 'security' features, and reader firmware) costs something like $400, nearly half the cost of the SD. [/rant]
