Macs have again taken the lead in my opinion with OS X and the Dual 1.25.
No one will ever change my mind. Call me a zealot, but that is what I think.
I am in a critical thinking class, and we spend 3 hrs a day, 2 times a week talking about people who rationalize like BackToTheMac. "No one will ever change my mind"
That is complete suppression of all the facts that are given to you. I think its a shame that you logically in your mind come to these conclusions. I bet you think Friday the 13th is dangerous, and you have lucky numbers huh :)

It would most likely put to rest the various incompatible RAW formats, plus JPEG and TIFF wouldn't be quite as necessary. Unfortunately, it might involve a version of EPS. I'm not sure that I want to be locked into any Adobe-specific technologies, free or not.

the prob with this device is its an aftermarket hardware unit that needs to be installed in your car. if they add a tuner to an iPod, you've got almost all you mentioned. I have a FM broadcaster that lets me listen to my iPod in my car right now (albeit it doesn't sound anything close to very good.)
a new iDevice that would be REALLY nice:
1. cellphone on worldwide network
2. built-in iPod functionality (mp3s, iTunes integration)
3. full-color screen
4. can play streaming video (ie. a mini Fox News channel, etc.) - mpg4 & aac!!
5. can do chat (a la iChat & mb others)
6. built in email reader/composer
7. uses that revamped Newton technology (handwriting)
8. can be used with voice recognition
9. always on
10. address book, ical built in
11. bluetooth to sync with other iDevice users on the road?
12. usable thumb board (optional)
13. uses rendevous & isync - can even sync your iPod with it. .mac friendly :)
14. use as a universal remote control (even garage doors)
15. battery much like the iPod but with longer charge (since always on)
16. possible digital camera - but i think it would be a joke
17. audio recording
18. 20G drive - mb 40... can expand this easily
19. video conferencing capable using a QTSS
already most of this exists, it just hasn't been combined into 1 digital device yet. it would be plenty expensive, but you could combine so many devices into 1 that it would be worth it. the mac platform would keep it all synced and tidy. Something like this might cost over $800 - but whoot!

Youtube works oh-so much better. On the trial version if I opened the video to full screen it would stop playing about half way through. Now it plays the full vid.
This is top. I like this. Hope the 360 takes note, though how much of a pain would it be operating a web browser without a mouse?

but back to monty python and brit movies, i guess it's ok that we get all the monty python fans and take over this forum for ten days...as in some sort of a hunger strike:p

I played WoW for one of those week-log trial periods. Then I got bored, realised I wanted a deep solo RPG and bought a 360 and Oblivion.

I would love to work at an Apple store, but the fact that you can not visit or post on Mac forums like this makes me a little turned off because Mac forums are what make my day. :p I can understand why it is against policy though. I guess it'd be cool to know when new products are being shipped in and stuff.

Thank gods no one actually listens to Dave Winer (http://davenet.scripting.com/1997/07/08/TheSureRoadtoBankruptcy). I know hindsight is 20/20 but it is still fun rub it in since Winer is such a tool. :D
Some choice quotes:
These were minor gaffes compared to the decision to bail out NeXT's creditors and assume their already bankrupt strategy. Apple shareholders are going to pay dearly for this decision. It's the sure road to bankruptcy for Apple.
Amelio and Apple's board didn't ask developers what they thought of Steve Jobs before they spent their last money buying him out. If they had asked me, I would have said not to do it. I don't trust Jobs.
Jobs was the wrong person to choose to turn around Apple because that isn't what he wants. He wants to turn around NeXT. And he's willing to lose Apple to do it.

also, posts made in the poliwar forum no longer count towards post count. many people dropped from '6502' to 'member.' many older members, such as b2tm lost thousands on their post count.

I think this gets asked once a month. And no, MS was forced to buy non-voting shares of Apple stock in the late 90's for being monopolistic bastards, and then end up selling the stock off.
MS owns jack about Apple.
that's just made my day :D monpolistic bit ;)
