It's good to see that they're working on a demo version. Being able to download and try the app will be proof that it's not vapourware.

First time mac user. Going to use it for my home based graphic design business. I don't now crap about macs. Where to start. How would you partition a 80gig hardrive for what I'm doing. I bought Norton utilities ,but that's it. I'll get adobe design suite, waiting to find it used for a good price. What else do I need??? Nice to meet everyone. Thanks in advance.

Well some of my fellow keeners in the folding world may have know i work/help out at a school. I do ALOT of computer work there and I talked to the guy in charge. And he said we could do a test on a couple computers to see how much folding slows them down if any. :) So today I installed it on 2 Athlon 64s. And next time I go in, I will install it on another 20-30 P4s. And if he has no complaints with them I can install it on the rest of them. So that will be about 100 CPUs. CPU speed will average out at about 1.2 Ghz. Some faster some at 1 Ghz. But with any luck I will be able to catch up to dreadnought at mc68k. And of coarse help our team out of this slump. :o

I must say that it feels smaller than the one @ Yorkdale.
I'm not sure if it felt small because there were so many people in it, but I did notice that the children's area is very very small. The Genius Bar seemed larger though. It was manned by 6 geniuses.
I'm hoping that it can't meet the demand and they'll see a need for another store downtown. I'm crossing my fingers for a Yorkville flagship store.

They did settle on it a a few weeks back, so I'd guess they would.
Still with all the lies, they put out about rumble, its not going to look great, but at the end of the day, its one more feature for the PS3.

I have the same problem, my printer isnt supported for USB printer sharing and I have 2 computers. THe printer (Samsung ML 1210) is a great printer, but it just isnt supported by 10.2 USB printer sharing, and it has some bugs in 10.2, but Im sure Samsung will work them out - eventually.

Well, if you're that worried about it, you could always download the original source code, check the MD5 signature, then compile it yourself on your machine. You'll have to modify the original compiler options to get the most out of it, especially on a G5. On a G5 you'd want to us the "-fast" compiler option.

i know you are now in the lengthy process of choosing a college and having them choose you, and then making a decision
...and this may be off topic
but once you get in, realize you are there to learn and it isn't a race to try and get out in four years or less and that is the mistake i first made in school...i wanted to just do the minimum in school to get by and just breeze through the courses and try and finish quickly...it is the journey which counts and the same with high school since the best years in one's life, and usually the easiest, are the ones before one graduates from college or high school and then falls into the adult world of bills, work, little time off, and a very unchanging existence
college has a lot of fun activities that some students find a nuisance, but when you get into the working world, you will find then that you won't have those choices in activities because you won't have the free time...and the more successful you are, the less time you will have to yourself...short of winning the state lottery
so when you get in, look into the fencing club, the rafting club, the hang glider club, or whatever since it will likely be the last four years in your life that you have that you will be able to have the time and energy to enjoy these types of activities and years later, after the memory of professors and classes fade, the great times you had in your time off when you were a student (ie - activities) will stay fresh in your memory for the rest of your life
in other words, don't forget to have fun while in school:D

I've got 130 3Ghz Dell desktops, 60 1.7Ghz Pentium M Thinkpads, 2 IBM XSeries both with quad Xeons at 3Ghz, 1 Compaq Prolient with quad Pentium Pros at 200Mhz, and a AS/400. I would love to help you out but there is that whole firing unpleasantness thing that would happen if I loaded unauthorized software office wide. I kinda like my job. Well kinda. I could do without the outsourcing politics that is emerging but that's a different discussion. Hmmm I could roll this software out in our login scripts and tell everyone to leave their computers on 24/7. Wonder how long I could get away with it before.... *shakes head* never mind. Bad idea. :D

Well flash takes some CPU grunt to support...if you have a G3 or a low-end G4, its not surprising that flash will have a huge hit on ur CPU utilization. Even at my clock speeds, it still takes a 15-20% chunk, which is alot.
Another method is to force flash animations to only play when you click on them:
