has anyone heard about apple solving the
noise issue they have with OSX?
Also:
has anyone experienced a strange audio
click or tick when moving windows around or
scrolling windows and also moving the cursor
over links on a web page? i had my stereo
connected to my mac and i heard the click/tick
through my stereo speakers...it even happened
when turned mute on.

I don't get it, since when is a small rectangular PC a Cube ripoff?
This little Shuttle box is nothing more than that. Name me one other feature besides size that it rips off.

People quitting early is annoying. Turning on your mic and letting others know is an easy way to avoid getting bad rep. All one has to do is tell the others that he/she has to go and no one will mind. 75% of people do this on GoW, but the other 25% just quit on you, and it's especially annoying when it's the host.
Microsoft needs to figure out a system that can tell when someone quits, versus when they are dc'd/have a dirty disc/power goes out/etc. They then need to implement a 'deserter' type system like in WoW. In WoW you cannot join PvP again for 10 minutes if you quit during PvP. This way anyone who quits has to wait 10 minutes before they can get back in an Xbox Live game/match.
I know it is annoying. But, in the games I normally play( PGR3, BS: Midway) a lot more people lag out then quit early because they are losing. When I leave I do say I'm leaving. Problem is in Midway the game separates the channels into the two different teams. So I say bye to my team and the other thinks I left early.
PS: It is double annoying when the hosts kicks you because you kick there butt.

The promotion (http://www.apple.com/promo/designfreely/) runs until Dec. 31.
A great deal if you get one of the lower-end PowerMacs. InDesign 2.0 goes for $700 retail.
Do you think Steve is trying to light a fire under Quark's belly?

I really like this game. It takes a little bit of time to get used to how the units are balanced, but after that it seems like it will be really fun to play.

I like to see that apple fix all screen to HDTV. I have some color variations on my 22". Small but if you are picki you'll see. I saw that those are fixed on the 23". Hope to see something happen there. Its not so easy to get couple 23" at once...

There's nothing as irritating as the variable speed fan in my 7600/400 G3! Everytime it needs to do some heavy calculations the fan's rpm goes up, and after a while it goes down again...

Will this eat up your internet connection ?
If so - for as wonderful an idea it is in 'theory'... In practice I dont see it being adopted widly other than on an intital 'curiosity' basis.

Ever since starting a new job at (insert computer store name), I have been drooling over the many 800 Mhz powerbook display models within our limited A.S.S section (Apple Store within a Store). Now the time has come for me to purchase one of those titanium beauties since I am now in college and without a trusty computer. Actually, I have a Cowpile2000 laptop, but that doesn't count.
Now that I have comitted to buying a powerbook, i'm getting a little edgy now that the Christmas season is here. Just like everyone else, I have been waitig 6+ months and the d*mn update hasn't come yet. Some say November, some say January. Personally, I think that November is the month.
judging the shipping guidelines and the oncoming of Chiristmas, it would be safe to say that the powerbook can come in early Nov. This will leave Apple time to announce the coming of the new powerbook, and for models to ship in time for Christmas.
On the other hand, there is MWSF. MWSF is a really huge event and there is another possibility that Apple will announce there, since there's more media coverage and so forth.
November makes the most sense, I'm just crossing my fingers. :D

That is so very true, I was reminded of this yesterday when my mother called asking about adding wireless to her laptop. The mininum spec to use the card was a 200mhz Pentium and she only has a 133mhz! It still works fine for email, word, etc. I guess some folks have a lot more patience than I.

Because of the limited supply and massive demand for these cards, we Cube owners are paying through the teeth for technology that is no longer cutting edge. And I hate the idea of getting a second-hand card through eBay, only to find it DOA with no support.
So come on, ATI and nVidia - give us a break. You make 'em, and we'll buy 'em.
Yeah imagine a cube with the uber graphics of the radeon 9700. But, i wonder, would it over heat the cube itself. I mean, all PC manufacturers are putting aluminium heatsinks on their R-9700's in they machines.

Dear lord,
If you have any heart for 25 million of your wiser men, please make apple use the power4 chip at lightning speeds, and please lord, do it soon. It is becoming hard for us mac men to defend ourselves.
PS. If you could give me a brand new top of the line mac while your at it i wouldnt mind either.
Edit: There is no blasphemy intended here

Oh, I'm so sorry to bother you with my silly little Wii problems. I suppose I should be just fine with controllers that don't always control. While I'm at it, I should be just like you and accept that my mouse doesn't always click, my keyboard doesn't always type, and my TV remote doesn't always change channels.

I can just see Windows users playing with the magnifying Dock toolbar thingy. Whenever a Windows user is on my Mac, that's all they seem to do .

I went in to check out the product (http://homepage.mac.com/markburgess3/browserTunes/docs.htm), and it actually looks alright. Sure it is early in development, but I think this is a good way for web apps to go.
Step one, build home network
Step two, write neat apps for controlling said home network
Step three, face competition from M$
Step four ...?
Step five, make tons of money.

HAHAH yes an apple outlet would be sweet...my family is always in the Lancaster area for those outlets...especially the ones in Reading.
I used to go to both areas for Christmas shopping. I wish I could get to Reading China and Glass. They had some amazing deals on all sorts of good stuff. Orlando has outlet malls but they charge retail here mostly.

swexplorer,
Indeed the speed is 723kbps but the headset profile doesnt support that kinda speed in Bluetooth, its actually alot slower than that. With the aid of compression and streaming digital voice, music might be a little unclear for BT version 1.1b.
go to the bluetooth SIG site to find out more of what the data rates are on BT headset profile for BT version 1.1b.
