Mine was warm with Wii connect 24. But now I dont leave it on standby I turn it off anyway.
WiiConnect 24 is an utter waste really. It's not like it downloads the updates for you.
Yea I don't see the point, it's not like there's super important info comin in. I think I'll turn it off too.

I have my Dual G5 running it full time as well as one of our work servers, but that one is going to be turned off soon. :(

OK. Just a friendly piece of advice and empirical observation coming from hours of tweaking G3s, G4s, G5s, P4s, Dual Athlons, and Dual Xeons for maximum efficiency.
I looked at your team, and it appears that the OSX group's numbers tanked, and remain low at near the same time Macrumors did, while more PC based groups do not show such drops. It may not be Tinker related, but it looks like the recent WU's being released by Stanford are not too Macintosh friendly.

it doesn't feel any faster than my ibook g4
You may very well be the first and only person ever to think that way.
I was at the Apple Store recently and was amazed by even the Mac Mini's tremendous feeling power compared to my 1.8ghz G4.

god like powers....
actually... when we look at the sourse we notice that apple is using js to determine the movies loaded so... in the js source of file... http://wdirect.apple.com/finalcutstudio/profiles/profiles.js we see the videos are defined and the code for writing out to the page is defined... http://images.apple.com/movies/us/apple/finalcutstudio/'+viewMov+'.mov"
Yeah, I just figured that out too. Very tricky from Apple's side, and very sneaky from yours :D

Dr. Oetker frozen foods are the current winners on the crap dubbing scale. Don't you just love the way they cut from the actors mid-sentence when the lip synching between German and English just gets too embarrassing?

As for the $5000 model, I think that's ridiculous, considering you can get an extra 512MB from MacMall, I think.
From what I saw when I was shopping for my dual 867 a week or so ago, MacZone has the best deal.

The law implicitly states that if you OWN a device that is capable of recieving signals you need a license.
From http://www.tvlicensing.co.uk/information/index.jsp:
If you use a TV or any other device to receive or record TV programmes (for example, a VCR, set-top box, DVD recorder or PC with a broadcast card) - you need a TV Licence. You are required by law to have one. [emphasis mine]

For me the best times at MR were in April - July or so.

ok you guys i've been researching this and i came across a post at onmac.net here's the link http://forum.onmac.net/archive/index.php/t-1532.html
for the lazy ones this is a posters response to a problem similar to ours:
"you need to edit the video.con file to set it to the res of your desktop change the file ext from Video.con to Video.txt then edit it and save it then change the file ext back to Video.con
I doubt its a DirectX error as that normally throws up a (dx blah blah error ) window but to make sure dl the latest dx9 if you want to bypass the WGA downloader look at http://www.uneasysilence.com/archive/2006/06/6859/
it lives in /Program Files/Electronic Arts/Battlefield2/mods/BF2/Settings/Profiles/Custom/Video.con
that path may not be exact as im doing it from memory but the file you need to edit is the Video.con file so you could just search for all your Video.con files and edit the resolution in there (def 800 600 32 0 ) mine is set to 1680 1050 32 0 as its on my 17" macbook.
you need to do the same if you want to play the BF 2142
~SIMPLE METHOD~
Right-click your Battlefield 2 desktop icon and click "Properties". Under the "Target field", add this: +szx 1280 +szy 800
This will force Battlefield 2's resolution into the resolution 13" MacBooks use.
Tell me if it works! (i cant test right now)
Good luck w/Battlefield 2!
Didn't seem to do the trick for me. Maybe it will for you..

Yes that would be gr8!
This could give Apple alot of options:
All pro-Macs: 64 bit IBM (maybe even quads:) )
All consumer-Macs: 32 bit Moto (maybe even duals)
A very flexible line up. Mhz no issue. I believe that Apple is not using the 1GHz Saharas for the iBook just for the reason that "it sounds more" than an 800 MHz G4. (so much for the MHz-myth campaign
:( ). Being able to sell 64 bit- Mac's will sound gr8, no matter the Mhz.
And this would also settle the score for being totaly dependant of one chip manufacturer.
I like your bet, so I will not bet against it!

i was just reading in another thread about the current TiBooks not being able to fully use DDR RAM. i was just wondering how much truth there is in this?
i'm usually not a very technical person, but on this occasion if someone wants to run me through the theory of why this is not possible then feel welcome.
also, if someone knows of any websites that are about the current TiBook processors and DDR RAM then i wouldn't mind having a read...

My dad needs to get a new laptop (under $800) and he has sent me out to do some research for him. I was thinking dell or HP. I like the dell line, but I cant deside. I could get him a real cheap one with a ntel Celeron M for $619. But I have an oversion to "outdated" technology and I want to suggest a Inspiron E1405 with Intel Core Solo 1.66GHz for $749. Is ti really worth $150 more?? It'll be used for basic computing. nothing special.
I you have an aversion to outdated technology, why don't you get him to buy a MacBook? It will safe you many many hours of giving free tech support, so it's definitely worth the money ($1199 with 1 GB of RAM).

a month away, or less, i can't wait...no matter how many rumors on the subject
a superdrive or new video card would be nice
1 ghz seems likely and the obvious upgrade for tibook
a new enclosure does not seem likely...and with its 1" thin enclosure, who would want to change it?
ok, making it 1.1" to fit superdrive;)

I don't understand how this would be MS's worst nightmare. If IE isn't the 800 lb gorilla of browsers that it is now, MS loses a ton of leverage. Firefox allows people to bypass Windows for a number of things and will start to erode the IE-only focus of so many websites, which will help Safari and other browsers as well. Plus, as people can do more and more with their (non-MS) browsers, it would become easier to move to a non-MS OS (they'd have to learn fewer new things than now, as more familiar options would just port over).

Interesting pic.
Not that I have any reason to disbelieve this pic, but has anyone done the usual close-up examinations, looking for photoshopping such as Toms Hardware got caught doing with an "exclusive preview" of unreleased P4's?
